For the driver
Ergonomically designed driver controls
Located just behind the driver’s rear view mirror, there is a newly designed roof-mounted panel which incorporates all the main taxi switches:
- Panic button
- Interior lights
- Electric step
- Independent door locking facility
The switches are one-touch brushed aluminium style buttons. The overhead panel also includes the Cygnus MR 400 meter (fitted as standard in the TW220SE model), located in an easy-to-see position for both driver and rear passenger.
A new one-piece tailgate, which incorporates a heated rear window and wash-wipe, gives the driver significantly improved rearward visibility compared to the previous model. The division screen is also considerably increased in size and the rear-facing head restraints are incorporated in the division glazing thus making for even better visibility. Reversing sensors are fitted as standard on all TW200SE models.
Improved Driver Safety
With the rigorous testing programme which the TW200 was put through to achieve Full European Whole Vehicle Type Approval, the TW200 owner can expect to enjoy the highest levels of personal safety. In addition, there’s ABS with emergency brake assist, electronic stability programme and a front driver’s airbag. The frame of the driver division is solid steel and there is an ‘anti-stab’ panel located directly behind the driver for protection. The perspex screen is really tough and has been tested under our European approval status.
Superb driver comfort
With more legroom than the previous model, the new TW200 also offers the driver a steering wheel which is adjustable for both height and reach. The large, panoramic windscreen improves forward visibility and gives an increased sense of spaciousness. And, of course, with air conditioning fitted as standard in the TW220SE, the taxi driver Panic button environment is extremely comfortable.
The most spacious taxi
Step into the rear compartment of the new TW200 taxi and you will be immediately impressed how big it is! The side doors are wider and easier to enter through (the off side door is 25% wider). The rear seats have been pushed back and so the internal length is over 10% greater than in the previous model. And with the introduction of the long wheelbase option the TW200 range offers more scope for luggage carrying capacity than ever before.
The best in ‘hail-ability’
You won’t ever have a lost fare with the new TW200 because the customer doesn’t know you run a taxi! The new TW200 has the most distinctive and strong taxi hire sign which is bound to make your potential fares know that you are ready for business. There are also LED lights incorporated in the front sign which, linked to the meter, indicate ‘for hire’. The rear pod-sign which is standard on the TW200SE includes the ‘door opening’ sign which illuminates when the doors are open.
